Sooo, what did Reky do this weekend?

Went to a family reunion. 8I Which basically means I sat outside near a fire all day and was generally ignored and left out. The few cousins I have that are about my age... really aren't into the things I'm into. To them I'm "that nerdy city kid, who just draws all the time." So pretty much the family reunion sucked. Except for a couple things. 1) the food, and 2) this really awesome dream I had.

What was said dream about, you ask?

Well... about watching an anime. Which only exists in my dream-mind, so you know. I only remember the last bit of the anime, so I'm attempting to piece together a plausible storyline for it. It was a pretty interesting show, to me. In the dream I watched it, like, 5 times. XD; I'm not going to tell you anything more about it other than it was rather like Mononoke (not the Ghibli film; the anime by Toei Animation) in the mood and style. I might write it out, or even attempt to storyboard it (but we know how I fail at comics...), so that's when you'll see it show up.

It'll require research on my behalf, though, I think. It was -very- Japanese and I don't want to be like all the weeaboos who just slap Japanese names and words onto a story and call it Japanese. Despite it being set in the present, it had elements of Japanese mythology and while I suspect it not to adhere completely to what is 'canon' (I know there are oddities already), I want it to be as 'factual' as possible.

I just want to separate myself from all those people who think the Japanese are demi-gods and that everything about them is amazing and should be abused and used all the time in their writing and art and don't put any thought into it. Because I'm not one of those people. And really, if I had a choice, I'd steer clear of a Japanese-sort of storyline, but this dream of mine really captivated me.

On another note, I need to go shopping for white clothes, white fabric, and get some gold dye. I need to dye all that white stuff mentioned and some feathers the same colour. :I For a costume, of course. What else? XD;

My black mage Arc costume is still in the works, but the robe is almost done. I haven't worked on it in a few days, though.

Slowly gathering bits and pieces for the Halloween costume I have planned... I'll probably wear that one to school, and then wear Arc on Halloween night if I get put on candy-handing-out duty. Cuz after all, it's basically just a witch costume. XD And I need an excuse to wear it.

And then I haven't even began gathering things for the fourth costume I have planned, but that's alright. I have tooons of time before next Otafest. (Said fourth costume is Markl from Howl's Moving Castle, btw. My friend is planning to go as Howl, so I volunteered to be her apprentice. :3)

ALSO, I'm having artist's/writer's block lately, guys. I don't know how long it'll last but hopefully not long.
