My entry for the contest "Characters - EXTREME" over at Seventh Sanctum. [link]

Meet Comet Goddream. When the name generator gave me this name, I just knew I had to use it.

And, for this boy's description, I used the Fantasy Crossbreed Generator.

:bulletred:"The humble male half-Will-O-The-Wisp blacksmith escaping the past. He has a boyish build. His non-human ancestry gives him a strangely attractive appearance."

...and it was the perfect description to get my mind going.

The goal of the contest was to make an over-the-top character. Take it to the extreme. So, I warped that description there into something terribly, terribly Mary Sue-ish and cliche. If little Comet Goddream her were female, he'd fit the typical Mary Sue female like a glove. But... the description said he was male! So what do I do?

Yaoi clichés.

The yaoi fandom... well, there are some very set-down cliches. Usually, the 'uke' (bottom) and 'seme' (top) are complete opposites. I made poor Comet Goddream into the most clichéd, typical image of an uke.

Superuke Comet Goddream has...
:bulletred:A dark, terrible past, that he's escaping from.
:bulletred:The looks of an angel. Blond hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. Don't forget those permanently blushing cheeks.
:bulletred:A pink (MANRY) glow. Because glowing is so cool and not stupid AT ALL! Just like sparkling vampires! </sarcasm>
:bulletred:Ears and a tail. You can't deny it - ears and tails are so overdone, and not just in the yaoi fandom. So here he is, with ears and a tail, for no reason other than 'just because.' I've never heard a tale where Will-O-The-Wisps had tails and kitty ears. :I
:bulletred:Sweater that's too big, and shorts that are almost too short. Typical 'uke' fashion, guys! Either this, or bondage and leather and piercings.
:bulletred:The skills to make gorgeous, perfectly crafted, lightweight, cut-through-anything swords. Even though he definitely does not have enough muscles to be an effective blacksmith. And look, there are no signs of smithing on him at all! No black fingers, no nothing! Gotta love how Mary Sues are so DIRT REPELLENT.
:bulletred:A lack of confidence and a broken soul, poor thing. He's just begging for a tall, dark, and mysterious seme to show up and support him and comfort him. AMIRITE.
:bulletred:He's pedo/shotacon bait.
:bulletred:A very retarded name. Comet... right. He glows. Nevermind, it fits. And the 'Goddream' part totally fits too. Because gods would TOTALLY dream about a poor little thing like this.

Feeling the extreme level of superuke and Mary Sue?

You should be.

P.S. I'm sorry if I killed anyone with the sheer level of Mary Sue-ness in this. XDDD

He's adorable, though. >.> But I guess that's the point. 8D

Also... that sword is made of win, no matter how it came to be crafted.

XDDD <3

Definitely the point. Deeefinitely. And... yes. The sword IS made of win. Which is also the point. "It's nothing special" my arse. ;sldfk

Reky, this is amazing.
I thought I smelled a Sue (Stu in this case) the moment I started reading. But I didn't want to say anything at first, incasebytheoffchanceyouwerebeingserious. (Thank Faranth you weren't! = D)

Droopy shoulder on the shirt gives it that look you wanted. -nod- And if nothing else, I like his hair/ears get-up. Really I do. They're all the same color. x) I've never seen that before.

Don't worry Comet; one day Dasher will find you and sweep you off your feet!*

(*yes, I did just make a reindeer reference)

The entries the contest produces constantly amaze me. It's a mix of parody, creativity, homage, and sheer talent all in one wonderful brew.

I got to make a contest to top this one and that will be HARD . . .

Indeed. I'm loving looking through all of the entries... The things people create!

I definitely don't envy you for having to formulate something that can beat the EXTREEEEME quality of this contest. If some miraculous ideas come to me, though, maybe I'll drop you a line. Although, genius ideas seem to come rarely to this mind of mine.
:icondragonscholar:
Fortunately:
A) Contest are judged by the winners of the previous contest.
B) I have a ranking formula that works rather well that I devised originally for a fiction contest.

The judges though? Still gonna have a tough time.

and a lack of genius ideas? Don't go selling yourself short . . .

Yep, it's definitely a good thing to have varied judges and a good rubric for judging things. But yeah, the judges definitely won't be having it easy with this. XD The thing I hate about judging is feeling so torn between all the good entries! Gah.

Haha, well, I suppose I do have my genius moments, but usually they don't come easily. Especially when it comes to contests ideas... Usually when I run contests it's very simple and lacking in imagination. Give people a work prompt, tell them to write/draw based around that word, and that's it. n__n;;; Ah well.
:iconanubuko:
M-MY EYES AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BLEED FROM THE TEXT, RIGHT?

aldkjsa Oh geeze Reky this is awesome. Hope you do well in the contest and geeze the design for this is cool. I thought it was a girl at first though then reading it all made sense and gosh I just kept laughing throughout the whole thing. XD;;

You did well, nice job. o/
