So, that nifty part where it gives you statistics about your deviations and stuff... My most viewed, most fav'd, and most commented deviations are all Fire Emblem related things.
I wish, somehow, they were some of my newer stuff. I mean, seriously, my most viewed thing is a meme. A crappy, old meme. I wiiiiish my new stuff would get more attention. I mean, great that my most fav'd is my Soren sprite, that's nice, but... it's a pixel sprite. Definitely the best example of me as an artists, hands down. /SARCASM
Anyways. Just a little rant there.
I just feel like my new stuff is under appreciated... Oops, not drawing generic cutesy anime chicks anymore, there goes the attention I get.
I'm immensely proud of my sort of more abstract, artsy fartsy stuff. But I find it a little sad that sparkly fanart and copied work still tends to get more attention. And not just in the art on DA, either - in theatre, too. The sort of 'out there' stuff is a bit of an acquired taste, I guess. You either love it or you hate it.
Bah.
Ranting.
Can't be healthy.
Also, though, guys, if you're still kicking as a watcher, comment more. ;A; I love hearing what parts of pictures you guys like, what things are cool, etc. Boosts my confidence n stuff.

I will admit, fanart does seem to get way more interest. I guess it's because people already know they like the subject, and they look for cool pieces of art on it. I dunno. Who knows.
What I do know, is that I love your new abstract-y type art. It's really cool and unique and awesome 'n stuff. <3
So keep drawing what you love to draw. That's what's important. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
In any case, I like to see you work with different styles. Things that directly interest other people with no prior investment (like fan art, or RP pixels) are easier for people to view, have an opinion about, and/or like.
I agree with the others: keep drawing, and if you're really looking for art critique you may consider other sites. Though I'd really love for you to keep posting on dA too.
